About Greenville Downtown Airport
The Greenville Downtown Airport is the busiest general aviation airport in South Carolina. General Aviation consists of all flying except for military or scheduled commercial flights.
While GMU is recognized as the corporate gateway to Greenville, our community corridor on the South Ramp provides a window to aviation. We conduct scheduled airport tours for the public and host community events near our park. Greenville’s local rails to trails walking and biking path, the Swamp Rabbit Trail, will be extended to pass just south of the airport in 2022. A spur that connects the Trail to GMU’s community corridor will be added shortly thereafter.
Located in the heart of Greenville’s business district, GMU offers the perfect setting for your business. Only a few miles away sits the Inland Port Greer, a rail-served port facility in Upstate South Carolina. Owned and operated by SC Ports, Inland Port Greer extends the Port of Charleston’s reach 212 miles inland via rail to ensure the swift movement of goods for customers. GMU is your perfect East Coast location along I-85 between Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC. Our low cost of living, favorable tax rate, and prime location make us the perfect choice for your business location.
GMU employs more than 547 people and has a direct annual economic impact of $68.8 million to the South Carolina economy. Safety will always be our number one priority as we strive to continuously improve the airport for the flying public.
